My hair loss pattern is a basically all over. I don't have a receding hairline or a bald spot. It's just been getting thinner all over.
I started taking the prescription Propecia in the middle of last year, and can very carefully watch all the hairs at my hairline, as they are thin enough to do that. After about six months, I stopped because my hair loss was accelerating. I have never read anything to this effect. Starting January 1 of this year, I decided to try it for a full year and see what happens. So far, I don't see any positive results. I would like to hear from any other people who experience more loss by taking this medication, and from any professionals who may have some insight into this.

Just a comment about Propecia....If you were to look at the research you would then have known that Propecia does cause initial hair loss. All it is doing is speeding up the rate at which dormant hair falls out. This is hair that was dying off anyways. The good healthy hair you have left will still grow. Its not making you shed hair you are actually losing hair to dormant cycling. I started using Propecia to and it does, unfortionately, take a while for it to produce results. This isn't a magic cure and doesn't work for everybody....I am showing very promising results....My rate of fall out is down to almost nothing now. Read unbias research from the FDA and it will also tell you that is supposed to happen with the initial fallout. Don't worry about it yet.
